The MAGNIFIC project took part in META 2026 – the 16th International Conference on Metamaterials, Photonic Crystals and Plasmonics, held at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, from 14 to 17 July 2026.

META 2026 brought together researchers, scientists and industry professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advances in fields including metamaterials, nanophotonics, plasmonics, metasurfaces, quantum photonics and AI-driven photonic design.

The conference provided an important opportunity for the MAGNIFIC project partners to engage with the international scientific community while also meeting in person to discuss the progress of the project’s research activities.

During the event, the partners shared their latest developments, reviewed ongoing work and aligned on the next steps of the project, reinforcing collaboration and coordination across the MAGNIFIC consortium.

The participation in META 2026 also offered a valuable setting for exchanging ideas, strengthening scientific collaborations and establishing new connections with researchers working across the fields of photonics, metamaterials and related technologies.

Among the MAGNIFIC representatives and partners participating in the event were Gloria Conte, Gaëtan Lévêque, Jouni Ahopelto, Marco Miniaci, Yan Pennec and Bahram Djafari Rouhani.

The MAGNIFIC team thanks the META 2026 organisers and all the researchers and professionals met during the conference for the stimulating discussions and exchanges in Dublin.
